Originally playing hiphop since around 1994, she got involved in D'n'B because of the cool collaborations and hiphop samples that got used in jungle/d'n'b since around 1995-1996.
D-Monica liked the labels: Rukus, No smoking, Urban Takeover and Rude & Deadly, which made it a small step to cross over.
Her other dark (musical) roots, the industrial/metal ones, also drew her to the darker side of D'n'B, when the shit hit the fan around 97'/98', with the Virus and Bad Company recordings.
Since then she's been playing mostly dark, driving, scary beats. The kinda epic tracks that people just HAVE to move to,and that shake the house!! She also knows very well, when to give the dance crowd a break to catch their breath!
Playing all over Amsterdam at clubs like Melkweg, Time, club More, Marcanti, Odeon, Duivel, Bitterzoet, Dupa, Mazzo, Paradiso, Vrankrijk, clud Zoo, Korsakof and Arena. She also played at the world famous Viper room on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood. In San Francisco she played at Funkattack & other hiphop clubs. This is on top of playing in other places such as Denver, Colorado, Tel Aviv, Rotterdam, Belgium, Sardinia, Sicily, Prague, and Russia. She loves to travel and always looks forward to spinning records at new places around the world!
"Keeping real hiphop alive and to let people FEEL my music is my mission"
"I love D'nB, 'cause it will always stay somewhat "underground," and you can dance to it how ever you like!"
